Quick Update of Sorts

Hello Lovely Followers of mine!!
Now I did say I would be having a giveaway when I either hit 200 post or hit 50 followers. However, I'm going to have to postpone my giveaway for awhile seeing as how my honey and I are kind of financially unstable at the moment. To make a long story short, my coworker didn't put it the right amount of hours (that I worked on my time card) into the system..so when I got paid, I got shorted almost 4 hours of pay. So with that being said, my giveaway will be postponed till a later day. I might just move it up to 300 posts to give me some time to get some goodies saved up for you all. I hope you all understand.

To brighten everyone's day I would love to share some non-beauty related pictures that I took yesterday at a water garden. It was so nice [minus the heat].

Enjoy!

I got to feed the Koi fish :) I love Koi!

I hope you guys liked my pictures from yesterday!! I have a huge haul post coming shortly, so stay tuned!!

NOTD Revisited: Sexy in the City

I'm pretty sure I did a post about this at the beginning of the year but I thought I'd take you all back down memory lane with it.

Today I chose to wear China Glaze's Sexy in the City, well actually my bestie Matt picked it out. Out of all the colors of nail polish I have, he chose this one. He made me laugh because the only reason he picked this one was because it looked like Captiva Blue Pearl from a 92-95 Honda Civic Hatchback. Guys! lol.

Anyway, I love the color. I really am not that big of a blue fan at all but this color is really beautiful!

Sorry that my nails look like crap still..I haven't painted them in awhile so I kinda messed up a little lol.

Hope you like them anyway!!

Only 2 more posts till I do my 200 posts giveaway! Stay tuned!!

Review: Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo & Captivating Curls Mousse

I got these two bottles for free from Suave [to see how I got them for free, see previous post]. I've been wanting to try a dry shampoo considering I have heard good things and bad things about them. Figured it was worth a shot [it was free, why not?]. I also picked up the captivating curls mousse. My hair really isn't curly, it's more wavy than anything but I wanted to try it too.

Now let's start this review!!

Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo:

Is said to " Absorb oil & refresh between washes".

"This dry shampoo spray, with mineral clay-refreshes hair to prevent a greasy feel between washes."
"How to use: Shake can well before and during application. Hold 8-10 inches from hair. Spray directly on oil roots. Use heat from the palm of your hand to rub in excess powder. For oil prone hair, apply on first day hair is washed to give extra volume and texture as well as to absorb oil throughout the day."

My Verdict: The scent of this is lovely. A very citrus, clean smell. I loved the smell just fine but I did not like the powdery residue it leaves in your hair if you don't happen to work it all in on the first try. Not only the only powdery residue but I had to spray a LOT to make it feel like my hair wasn't oily. Even then, it didn't really do that great of a job. I feel like I've used half of the bottle just within two days! Overall, I'm not super pleased with this product but I will probably continue using what I have left and see if maybe I just need to spray more and cover a bigger area or something.

[Ewwwww Powder in my hair?!] [yes I need to shave my arms again]

Leaves some residue on your hands..ick!

Repurchase?: I would have to say no on this. The scent was lovely but I don't think this product is for me. If my hair gets too oily, I'll shampoo it. lol. I think they made dry shampoo for the more "lazy" people that don't like to wash their hair a lot. [not saying that I was mine every day but I don't let it get super nasty].

Next Review:

 Suave Professionals Captivating Curls Mousse:

"For 24 Hour touchable curls"

"This alcohol-free mousse, with anti-frizz complex, helps define and hold natural curl patterns. The whipped cream texture combines light conditioners and control so that curls are touchable, not crunchy."
"How to use: Shake can well and turn upside down, Dispense into hand and emulsify between palms. Squeeze the mousse into wet hair. Gently blot excess water out of hair with a squeezing motion and thin towel. This helps work in the mousse for even curl formation. Blow dry with a diffuser on low setting. Tilt head from side to side allowing heat to flow from ends into root. For shoulder length curls, use 1-2 golf ball size amounts. Use more for longer, thick textured hair. Use less for shorter fine textured hair."

My Verdict: I personally liked this one over the dry shampoo. I don't really have curly hair, just wavy but I wanted to try it out because I do like to keep my waves in order and plus I had never tried a mousse before. Figured, it was free, give it a whirl. The texture of this mousse is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love the texture, the smell, the ease. It's lightweight so it doesn't wear my hair down. When I used this I didn't blow dry it. Blow drying it might help the product work better but I mainly wanted to see how well it would work if I just put some in my hair and then went to bed. It didn't work too bad but I still had frizz [unstoppable]. I think had I used it after a day time shower, it would have had better results. I think sleeping on it made it not work out too well for me. In the end it's a great product and for $2.47, it's cheap enough to give a try! Did I mention it's got the nice clean smell to it too? but not so much citrus this time like with the dry shampoo.

It looks just like whipped cream!!! I could almost.....

Just kidding!!! haha

Great Texture and it holds onto for dear life!!

Repurchase?: I actually might repurchase this. It's only $2.47 so why not??

I hope you all enjoyed my review today! Let me know what you think and if you have purchased any of these before!

Tag: Would You Rather

I found this cute tag by checking out Christine's lovely blog over @ MAkeup, Beauty & Fashion , you can check out her tag post on her blog by clicking the link above ^.

Thanks for sharing this cute post with us Christine!

I <3 my baby girl!!

Let's get started!!

1) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip-glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
Probably going to have to say palettes and eye shadows because right now I'm hooked on pink lipsticks and glosses and that would be a nightmare to lose what I do have lol.

2) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This is a toughy because I'm use to having my hair a certain length but if I had to choose I'd have to say chop off all of my hair..mainly because it does grow back and never being able to cut it again would kill me in the summer time.

3) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Definitely pink! I, like Christine, love pink!

4) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

I'd spend it on clothes because right now, clothes don't exist in my closet. I need clothes bad, so $1000 would be amazing!

5) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Lipstick as eyeliner.

6) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Oooo, that's a tough one because I don't really shop at either..but if I had to choose, MAC

7) Would you rather only use one eye shadow color or one lip color the rest of your life?

Hmm..one lip color cause I almost ALWAYS wear pink.

8) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Summer clothes in the winter...I love the cold!!

9) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright nails definitely! I love bright colors

10) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

I would rather give up my favorite eye product because I always need something on my chapped lips.

11) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytail

12) Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip-gloss?

Never use lip gloss..I love painting my nails bright colors so that's a must

13) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? Or sharpie them in everyday?

This is horrible! Sharpie because at least there would be something there lol.

14) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Makeup because I really don't wear a ton of makeup so I can live without that.

Hope you all enjoyed my answers! I'm tagging all of my followers to do this tag!! This is a super fun tag and easy so I hope everyone does it! Have a great night!

Hair Products Haul + FOTD

Last night I checked my mail and low and behold, I had two free samples inside. I got back to my apartment before opening them. Inside one was a can of Alpo dog food with a $1.00 off 3 cans. The other sample was an envelope and when I opened it, it had 2 coupons for FREE Suave Professionals Hair Products. SCORE!

So today I took a quick trip to wally mart. I normally go on Sunday anyway to get my Sunday paper [coupon whore] and get some other stuff that I need [whatever]. I debated between getting the volumizing mousse or the captivating curls mousse; I chose the captivating curls mousse.

I have never used a mousse before so this should be interesting. I'm excited to try it out! I also got a bottle of Dry Shampoo. I have heard mixed reviews about dry shampoos from a few beauty gurus, so I'm hoping this is amazing!

If you would like to get free products from Suave here's the link to how I was able to score 2 free products: Free Suave Products

Just a little close up shot of the two bottles I got. I was so excited to get these for FREE. They retail for $2.47 at Wally Mart [Wal-mart]. There are many other hair products from Suave Professionals to try out but these two stood out to me. I cannot wait to give them a try and post up a review for all of you who are interested and trying these out.

Have you used any of the Suave Professionals Hair Products? What were they?

Onto my FOTD:

I didn't really plan on doing much today so here's a list of what I did wear:

Purple eyeshadow from urban decay [forgot the name]
L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara and Primer
No Name Hot Pink Lip gloss

For my outfit I wore:

Old Navy V-Neck shirt [super comfy and light]
Old Navy Tank top
Old Navy Jeans
Old Navy Flip Flops

[Dang! I should be a spokes person for Old Navy!]

^_^

and of course no FOTD is complete without one goofy picture!

Lip Products: Reviews & Swatches

Who loves lipsticks!! I do! I especially love bright pinks [Macs Candy Yum Yum]. Unfortunately this is my little collection of lip products. So sad! I know. Eventually I'll have more to share with you all!

Here we have 2 lipsticks and 1 lip stain. Now, if you follow me regularly then you know that I'm not a fan of the lip stain. It smells REALLY BAD!!!!!!! I do love the color, it's just the smell that bothers me.

Lipstick #1 [left to right]: Jane Lipstick in Plum Perfect
Lipstick #2: NYX 509 Narcissus
Lipstick #3: E.L.F First Date

Plum Perfect & Narcissus

Now time for swatches....

Left to Right: First Date, Plum Perfect, Narcissus

First Date

Plum Perfect

Narcissus

Now that you've seen the swatches and how they look on, I'd like to say that I love how plum perfect goes on. Narcissus drives me nuts! I have to say that it's my first and probably last NYX lipstick unless I decide to try another color. I only dislike it because it goes on really weird. It clumps up and almost attaches to certain spots better than others so you can tell it's a little uneven on my lips. I've even tried putting a nude color underneath and it didn't really help.

Hope you all like my review and swatches!

What's your favorite lipstick? What would you recommend me to try?

Hello July!

Wow, I feel very blessed to have finally reached 40 followers! I just wanted to let you all know that you guys are awesome! Thanks for following.

Now, onto what I was making this post for... I've decided that I want to have a giveaway soon. I had my first giveaway back when I hit 100 posts [yes, I was being different]. Rather than doing 100 followers and throwing a giveaway, I threw a giveaway after 100 posts. =] Now I'm deciding whether or not to have a giveaway when I hit 200 posts [About 15 posts away] or when I hit 50 followers [10 away]. It's tough to decide. Then there's the tough decision on what prizes to do for my giveaway. Hmm, decisions decisions. =]

So, I want your input! Which would be better, a 50 followers giveaway or a 200 posts giveaway? Should I keep it to posts or to followers? I'll let you all be the judge.

What's In Your Makeup Bag??

I actually don't have a lot in my makeup bag. Actually, I hardly have any [makeup] in my makeup bag. lol.

Here's what I do have in my makeup bag:

1 - Hair Clip [who knows when you'll need to keep the bangs back]
2 - Love Rocks roll on perfume [got this as a freebie from Victoria's Secret on my first day]
3 - Coastal Scents Lip Smacks in Love Kitten
4 - Canister of Carmex [Love it]
5 - 2 bottles of Nivea lotion [who knows when you'll have to fight off dry skin]
6 - Allegra Allergy medicine [when ever my allergies to decide to come back, I'll be ready!]
7 - Equate Ibuprofen [For those girlie days]
8 - 2 Urban Decay Lip Plumpers
9 - 2 Travel sized tooth brushes [always great to have one (or 2) when you need to freshen up]

I guess since this is a makeup bag, I should probably put some makeup in it eventually huh? Once I decide what makeup I want to carry with me, I'll probably put it in my bag.

What do you all carry in your makeup bags? I tag all of my followers to do this blog post!

Hope you all have a Great FoUrTh Of JuLy!
